Annie Day: Troy Public Schools' National Geographic Bee Winner!

Yesterday, 32 students in grades 4-8 participated in the Troy Public Schools' National Geographic Bee in the high school auditorium.  The five students who made it to the final round were Joey Salomon, Devin Carberry, Annie Day, Moxley Roesler-Begalke, and Hunter Leighty.  After difficult questions in the final and championship rounds, Joey Saloman placed third, Hunter Leighty placed second, and Annie day won the school National Geographic Bee.

The next step for Annie is to take a multiple choice written test to qualify for the state bee, the time and date of which is TBD.

State winners are invited to National Geographic headquarters in late May to compete in the national finals for scholarships in the amount of U.S. $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000.

Good luck in the next round, Annie!
