MCC Summer Program for 14-17 year olds

We’re currently recruiting for our summer youth program (14-17 year olds), for which we’ll be running two, 4-week sessions.
·         June 9th-July 5th
·         July 14th – August 9th

Participants will be expected to spend the first week in the field, returning home for the first weekend, then heading into the field again for the following three weeks. Parents will need to be able to attend one pre-session orientation meeting in Kalispell, as well as drop off/pick up their youth 2 additional times (for those considering this experience from outside the immediate area).

Projects will likely include:
·         Fence repair in Glacier National Park
·         Trail maintenance in the Great Bear Wilderness
·         Invasive weed mapping/mitigation on the National Bison Range
·         Campground maintenance for Fish, Wildlife and Parks
·         Trail maintenance for the Whitefish and Foy’s to Blacktail Trails

Participants receive a $200 Service Award upon successful completion of the program, and will log over 200 hours of community service during the 4 week session.

Of course, there’s more information about the program in general on our website.

Please let me know if I can answer any questions relative to our summer youth program.

Thank you,
